Vien Quang pagoda in Nghe An releases over 10 tons of fish to Lam River

Vien Quang pagoda located in Nam Thanh commune of Nghe An province’s Nam Dan district held on April 11 the 13th fish release to Lam River.

Attending the event included Buddhist monks and nuns from Thien Ton Phat Quang pagoda, representatives from the district and commune authorities, and over 2,000 lay Buddhists in Nghe An and neighboring provinces.

During the biggest fish release ever in the province, over 10.4 tons of young fish were released to Lam River with solemn Buddhist rituals.

The fish release is regularly organized by Vien Quang pagoda, contributing to regenerate aquatic resources, as well as enhance knowledge and responsibility of local people on the protection of aquatic resources.
