Buddhist Sangha in Ha Tinh reviews annual Buddhist affairs

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) in the central province of Ha Tinh has reviewed its Buddhist affairs 2021 and mapped out key tasks 2022 at a conference held on December 5.  

The year-end conference was chaired by Most Venerable Thích Bảo Nghiêm, Vice President of the VBS’s Central Executive Council cum Chairman of the Executive Committee of the VBS in Ha Tinh. Guests at the event included Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Phan Quốc Khánh.

As reported at the conference, in 2021, Buddhists in Ha Tinh have made practical contributions of cash and medical and support supplies worth over three billion VND for the Covid-19 prevention and control work. In addition to weekly programs donating free rice and meals to hospitals and social sponsoring centers, Buddhists followers in the province have presented thousands of support packages to disadvantaged people on occasion of Lunar New Year and important Buddhist events.

As reported at the conference, the VBS’s chapter in all 13 districts of Ha Tinh has successfully convened its 3rd district-level congress, reviewing Buddhist affairs in the term 2016-2021 and approving plans of activities for the 2021-2026 tenure.

During the conference, Most Venerable Vice President of the VBS’s Central Executive Council cum Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee Thích Bảo Nghiêm presented decisions approving elected personnel of the executive boards of the VBS chapters for the 2021-2026 tenure in 13 districts of Ha Tinh.

Speaking at the event, while highly appreciating achievements of the VBS in Ha Tinh in 2021, Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Phan Quốc Khánh stated that the state authorities at all levels in Ha Tinh would do their best for the safe and successful congress of the provincial VBS in Ha Tinh in 2022.
