Hanoi Catholics active in patriotic emulation activities

 The Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics (CSVC) in Hanoi held a meeting on December 20 for welcoming Christmas 2021 and reviewing its performance and the patriotic emulation movement among Catholic community in 2021.  

As reported at the event, in 2021, due to the complicated context of Covid-19, many religious practice have been suspended; Catholic dignitaries and followers in Hanoi Archdiocese have proactively joined hands with the municipal government in the Covid-29 prevention work and donated over 77 million VND to the Covid-19 fund.

In addition, Catholics in Hanoi have proactively participated patriotic movements and programs including the “Outstanding Catholic Parish” movement launched by local authorities.

On the occasion, 112 outstanding Catholic followers received medals “For the cause of national companion” from the Central Committee of the CSVC and the city CSVC presented certificates of commendation to 50 Catholic groups and 80 indiviudals honoring their outstanding contributions in the patriotic movements in 2021.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Hanoi also presented certificates of merit to two Catholic groups and two Catholic followers for their outstanding achievements in social activities in 2021.
