Social charities of Buddhists in Ben Tre, Tien Giang

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee in Ben Tre in collaboration the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee held on December 11 a ceremony for inauguration of a new residential bridge located in Phu Khuong ward, the province’s Ben Tre city.  

The event saw the presence of Senior Venerable Thích Trí Thọ, Member of the VBS Central Executive Council cum Vice Chairman of the provincial VBS Executive Committee, and Venerable Thích Trí Thuận, Head of the provincial VBS’s Social Charity board.

Local guests at the event included Vice Chairwoman of the provincial VFF Nguyễn Thị Mai Rí and Vice Chairman of the Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients in the province Nguyễn Văn Hai.

As reported, the new bridge was built with 10.5 meters long and 4 meters wide, and at the total cost of about 175 million VND.

Earlier, from December 4 to 8, Buddhist establishments in Tien Giang presented relief packages and Covid-19 medicines to Covid-19 patients in the province.

Buddhist establishments presented two oxygen generators to a medical clinic, 420 medicine packages, and 300 sets of support supplies to the poor in lockdown and quarantine areas, with the total value of over 230 million VND.
