Catholic solidarity committee in Dong Nai reviews patriotic emulation movement


The Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics (CSVC) in Dong Nai province held a meeting on December 13 for reviewing the implementation of the patriotic emulation movement in 2023.

Attending the event included Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Quản Minh Cường, Priest Dominic Trần Xuân Thảo, Vice President of the national CSVC cum Chairman of the provincial CSVC, and members of the provincial CSVC.

Dong Nai province currently has over 1.2 Catholic followers. In 2023, the provincial CSVC has guided Catholic compatriots in the province to engage in the patriotic movement and programs launched by local authorities and proactively launched social and charitable projects in fields of education, study-promotion, health care and building solidarity houses for the disadvantaged, etc with the total contribution of over 242 billion VND.

Regarding building new-style civilized rural areas, the Catholic community in the province has implemented practical activities including free donation of lands for expanding rural roads, building new rural infrastructure, and installing light systems, etc with total amount of billions of VND.

At the event, Deputy Secretary Quản Minh Cường congratulated local Catholics elected to the CSVC for the 2023-2028 tenure and extended merry Christmas to all Catholic followers in the province.
