The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) in Tuyen Quang province held on December 11 a ceremony for marking its 10th founding anniversary.
The event drew the participation of Buddhist dignitaries, provincial authority’s representatives and large numbers of monks, nuns and lay people.
On the occasion, the provincial authorities presented certificates of commendation to the VBS’ executive committee in the province and 10 Buddhist individuals for their contributions in social charities in the locality.
Tuyen Quang province currently has 17,000 Buddhist followers with 40 pagodas and 20 Buddhist monks and nuns.
