Duc Ninh Parish located in Duc Hop Commune of Hung Yen Province is a predominantly Catholic village with nearly 300 households and more than 1,000 residents. In recent years, the local Catholic community has demonstrated unity, creativity, and active engagement in economic development and socio-cultural activities, contributing significantly to the commune’s socio-economic development goals, according to Deputy Secretary of the village Party Committee Bùi Văn Bằng.

Village road successfully widened thanked to practical contributions of parishioners of Duc Ninh Parish
Through close coordination with the parish priest and the Pastoral Council, the Village Party Committee encourages parishioners to observe the Party’s guidelines and policies and State laws, proactively participate in patriotic emulation movements, and lead virtuous lives. Since 2024, parishioners have donated thousands of square meters of land and significant labor to support projects in the village.
The road from Duc slope through Duc Ninh Village, an important transportation route, has recently undergone expansion and upgrading. To make room for construction, parishioners voluntarily donated land and dismantled fences and gates on their properties. Notably, the family of Mrs. Trần Thị Thịnh contributed the largest land area. She noted that while land is precious, wider roads and alleys improve mobility, benefit local residents, and support economic development, prompting her family to donate land for the project.
At the local, the movement to develop “three-non” residential areas continues to yield positive results, aiming to prevent social vices, environmental pollution, and wasteful or outdated practices in weddings and funerals. Local authorities have worked closely with Catholic dignitaries and deacons to promote awareness among Catholic families, encouraging compliance with community regulations and civilized lifestyles. Religious festivals are held annually in a solemn and orderly manner, in compliance with relevant laws.
Efforts to meet environmental standards have seen villagers actively sorting and treating organic waste at home, while livestock farmers utilize biogas digesters to handle animal waste and reduce environmental pollution. Catholic parishioners participate actively in self-governing groups, helping to build a peaceful parish. Each year, 100% of households register to be considered for the title of “Culturally Advanced Family,” and more than 95% of Catholic households earn this recognition through annual evaluations. Ensuring security and public order remains a fundamental pillar of the village’s socio-economic development.

Parishioner Phạm Thị Huệ takes care of her dairy cows
By capitalizing on the fertile alluvial plain and their dynamism, parishioners in Duc Ninh Parish are actively promoting economic development. Many households have made bold shifts toward high-value crops and livestock, with several families earning hundreds of millions of dong each year. This has led to a rapid increase in the number of well-off and affluent households. Currently, the average annual income of parishioners exceeds 80 million dong.
Since 2020, Mrs. Phạm Thị Huệ’s family has successfully developed a dairy farming model, maintaining a herd of approximately 30 cows. By focusing on proper barn hygiene, regular vaccination, and standardized milk handling, the family ensures stable productivity and milk quality. In addition, nearly seven acres of elephant grass are cultivated, and agricultural by-products are used alongside commercial feed to reduce costs. As a result, the cows remain healthy and produce abundant, high-quality milk, generating an annual net income of about 300 million VND.
The festive spirit of Christmas 2025 has spread throughout Duc Ninh Parish. The parish marks the occasion with cultural and artistic activities, along with gift-giving initiatives to support disadvantaged parishioners and underprivileged students who achieve academic excellence. As the New Year 2026 approaches, the parish community remains committed to living virtuous lives, honoring God, loving the nation, and strengthening solidarity between Catholics and non-Catholics in the shared effort to build a more prosperous and beautiful locality.
