The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s chapter in Cang Long district of Tra Vinh province successfully convened its 6th congress on April 24-25.
The two-day event drew the participation of Most Venerable Thạch Sok Xane, Vice President of the VBS’s Central Executive Council cum Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee; Most Venerable Thích Trí Minh, Vice Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee; and large numbers of monks, nuns and followers representing Buddhist worshipping places in the locality.
The congress highlighted achievements the VBS’s Chapter in the past five years, approved working plans for the new tenure of 2021-2026, as well as selected 27 members to the new-term VBS’s Executive Board in the district headed by Senior Venerable Thích Minh Độ.
According to the congress’ report, for the last five years, Buddhists in Cang Long district have made contributions valued at over 27 billion VND for social charities in localities.
