Attending the meeting were Most Venerables Deputy Patriarch of the VBS Discernment Council Thích Đức Nghiệp and Thích Trí Quảng, Most Venerable Chairman of the VBS Executive Council Thích Thiện Nhơn, Most Venerable Vice Chairman of the  VBS Executive Council  cum Head of the VBS’s  Committee for Clergy Affairs Thích Thiện Pháp, Buddhist dignitaries from the VBS Executive Council, central committees, and 300 monks, nuns and followers in the Southern region.

The meeting focused on reviewing Buddhist affairs in the first quarter of 2017, discussion of remaining issues of the VBS in the 7^th tenure (2012-2017) and preparation for the 8^th national congress to be held in November this year.
