A delegation of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) has paid a working visit to Tran island in Quang Ninh province.
The delegation was led by Most Venerable Thích Quảng Tùng, Vice Chairman of the central VBS’s Executive Council and joint by Senior Venerable Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Committee in Quang Ninh province Thích Thanh Quyết, Political Commissar of the provincial Border Force Trần Văn Bừng, and representatives of the Military Command in the province.
Surveying the location for pagoda construction
According to Senior Venerable Thích Thanh Quyết, the construction of the Truc Lam-Tran island pagoda would contribute to meet the spiritual need of locals, and this pagoda would also serves as a community center for holding cultural events, including the death anniversary of Hùng Kings.
The VBS’s Executive Committee in Quang Ninh will soon complete the dossier for the pagoda construction designed with a traditional architecture of Vietnamese people.

VBS delegation visits 12 households in Tran island
On the occasion, the VBS’s delegation also visited and presented gifts to soldiers and 12 households residing in the island.
Tran island located in Co To district currently has over 60 residents living without a place of worship.
