The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) chapter in Yen Phong district in the Northern Province of Bac Ninh successfully held on October 31 its 9th congress (the 2021-2026 tenure).
Present at the event included Seniour Venerable Thích Thanh Phụng, Member of the VBS’s Central Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS chapter’s Executive Committee in Bac Ninh other dignitaries of the VBS chapters in the province and its districts, and large numbers of monks, nuns and lay Buddhists in Yen Phong district.
Guests at the congress included Deputy Director of Home Affairs Department of Bac Ninh province Trần Trung Chính and representatives from local authorities.

The one-day event reviewed its Buddhist affairs in the last five years, and elected a new 11-member executive board of the VBS chapter in Yen Phong district for the 2021-2026 tenure.
On this occasion, five Buddhist individuals and one Buddhist group in Yen Phong district were honored with certificates of merit and recommendation by the VBS chapter in Bac Ninh province and the district authorities of Yen Phong for their outstanding contributions in Buddhist affairs in the 2016-2021 tenure.

Yen Phong district in Bac Ninh province is currently home to 66 Buddhist pagodas with the total of 60 Buddhist monks and nuns.
