The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Chapter in Tay Ninh province solemnly held a grand Buddhist ordination on October 29-31 at Linh Son Phuoc Trung pagoda located in the province’s Tay Ninh city.
The event saw the attendance of Most Venerable President of the VBS’s Executive Council Thích Thiện Nhơn, Most Venerable Vice President of the VBS’s Executive Council Thích Thiện Pháp, Most Venerable Member of the VBS’s Executive Council cum Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee Thích Niệm Thới, Superior Nun Abbess of Nui Ba pagoda Thích Nữ Diệu Nghĩa and over 250 Buddhist nominatees in 16 provinces and cities.
Local guests at the event included Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Huỳnh Văn Quang and Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Võ Thành Công.
The three-day event featured rites and ceremonies according to the Buddhist tradition for Buddhist nominatees to be ordained as novice monks, novice nuns, bhiksu, bhiksuni and Siksamanana.
