VBS Chapter in Quang Binh reviews six-month Buddhist affairs

The Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Chapter in Quang Binh provincial reviewed its six-month performance at a meeting held on May 29 at Dai Giac pagoda in the province’s Dong Hoi city.

The event was chaired by Most Venerable Member of the VBS Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS Chapter in the province Thích Tánh Nhiếp and attended by representatives from the VBS executive board in the province’s districts, and large numbers of monks and nuns in the locality.

As reported at the meeting, in the first six months of 2017, the VBS’s Executive Committee obtained good results in Buddhist affairs, including the establishment of the VBS branches in three district of Quang Ninh, Le Thuy and Tuyen Hoa, successful organizations of the provincial VBS Chapter’s congress and the Buddha’s Birthday Festival 2017 and upgrades of Buddhist temples, etc.

Speaking at the event, Most Venerable Thích Tánh Nhiếp highly appreciated the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee’s efforts as well as pointed out limitations in Buddhist affairs in the first six months of 2017. He also asked the provincial VBS Executive Committee continue checking local Buddhist worshipping places for renovation and applying for recognition.

On this occasion, a demo of the website of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee was introduced that will help Buddhist followers and interested people to understand more about the Buddhist life in the province.
