The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Chapter in Quang Binh held on May 29 a grand ceremony to celebrate the Buddha’s Birthday 2018 (B.E. 2562) at Dai Giac pagoda in Dong Hoi city.
The event saw the attendance of Most Venerable Chairman of the VBS Chapter in the province Thích Tánh Nhiếp, representatives from the VBS’s executive board in the districts of Bo Trach, Quang Ninh, Tuyen Hoa, Le Thuy and about 1,000 followers in the province.
Distinguished guests at the event included representatives from the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs, the provincial Commission for Mass Mobilization and local authorities.
The ceremony included reading of the message of the VBS Supreme Patriarch on Vesak Day 2018 and Buddhist rituals including incense offering, Buddha bathing and prayers for peace.
