VBS Chapter in Ho Chi Minh city holds 3rd training on pagoda management

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Commitee in Ho Chi Minh city held on October 12-15 the 3rd administrative training on pagoda management at Vietnam Quoc Tu pagoda located in Ho Chi Minh City’s district 10.

Attending the close ceremony of the training held on October 15  were Most Venerable Deputy Patriarch of the VBS Discernment Council cum Chairman of the city VBS Executive Committee Thích Trí Quảng, Most Venerable Vice President of the VBS Executive Council Thích Thiện Tánh and about 550 participants who are key Buddhist monks and nuns from Buddhist temples and establishments in the city.

The three-day training course covered topics relating to professional management of Buddhist worshipping places as well as the VBS’s charter and regulations.

During the training, Chairman of the city Committee for Religious Affairs Lê Hoàng Vân took the chance to introduce the participating monks and nuns contents of the new Law on Belief and Religion.

On the occasion, the Organization Board of the training course received VND 656 million from participating monks and nuns and Vinh Nghiem pagoda as a result of the fund raising program launched by the city Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee for supporting people affected by recent floods in northern and central localities.
