The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) chapter in Gia Binh district in the Northern Province of Bac Ninh successfully held on October 31 its 9th congress (the 2021-2026 tenure).
The event saw the presence of Buddhist dignitaries from the VBS chapter’s in Bac Ninh province and its districts, and all monks and nuns in the district.
Guests at the congress included representatives from concerning departments and agencies of Bac Ninh and district authorities of Gia Binh.
The main congress session held on November 2 elected a new 11-member executive board of the VBS chapter in Gia Binh district for the 2021-2026 tenure with Seniour Venerable Thích Thanh Hỗ, Abbot of Bao Thap pagoda located in Dong Cuu commune selected as Head of the new-term executive board of the VBS chapter in Gia Binh district.

On this occasion, ten Buddhist individuals and one Buddhist group in Yen Phong district were honored with certificates of merit and recommendation by the VBS chapter in Bac Ninh province and the district authorities of Gia Binh for their outstanding contributions to Buddhist affairs in the 2017-2021 tenure.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic spread, the Buddhist congress in Gia Binh took place with a modest scale and a strict implementation of 5K message for the pandemic prevention and control.
