Truc Lam Bach Ma Zen monastery in Thua Thien Hue province

Truc Lam Bach Ma Zen monastery is the first monastery in Central of Vietnam under Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen sect, which was founded by Zen Master Thích Thanh Từ.

Truc Lam Bach Ma Zen monastery is located in Linh Son mountain and surrounded by Truoi lake in Thua Thien Hue province’s Phu Loc district. Far about 10km from National Highway 1A, about 35km from Hue city and 65km from Da Nang city, it is one of the spiritual tourist attractions, alluring large number visitors inside and outside the country.

From the Truoi dam, it would take tourist about 15 minutes to get the Zen monastery through Truoi Lake by boat. Looking around from the Zen Monastery, tourists will see the stone statue of Shakyamuni Buddha 24 meters high and weighing 1,500 tons meditating on the hill in front of the monastery.

The construction of the monastery was started in March 2006 and completed after two-year of construction with an estimated cost of nearly VND 15 billion. Truc Lam Bach Ma monastery is a harmonious architectural complex with many facilities such as temples, three-entrance gate, main hall, guest house, functioning buildings, drum tower, bell tower, etc, and surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape.
