Tien Giang province: Hoa Hoa Buddhists spend nearly three billion VND for charitable activities

In 2014, members of the provincial Hoa Hoa Buddhism Representative Committee, the Executive Board in communes and Hoa Hao Buddhists conducted many practical charitable and social activities.
Although living mainly on agriculture, Hoa Hao Buddhists in Tien Giang province have enthusiastically joint with benefactors in charitable activities in the locality, including the building of eight rural bridges, 800m of concrete roads; supporting the construction of 17 solidarity houses; presenting 1,518 gifts to poor people, 450 scholarships for poor students; providing 17,400 meals to the poor and mentally-ill patients ... with a total value of nearly three billion VND.
Currently, Hoa Hao Buddhism in Tien Giang has about 1,900 followers with 14 commune-level Executive Boards.
