Thua Thien Hue province: thousands of tourists attend Hon Chen festival

On August 3, 2014, thousands of tourists attended the traditional festival in Hue Nam temple (Hon Chen temple)

This is a traditional folk festival associated with Hue Nam heritage and Hai Cat communal house in Huong Tho commune, Huong Tra district, Thua Thien Hue province.

Hue Nam temple festival is a traditional spiritual cultural festival and takes place twice a year in 3rd  and 7th  months of Lunar calendar at the temple worshipping Mother Goddess Thien Y A Na on Ngoc  Mountain.

At the temple and the Huong river area in front of the Hue Nam temple, there were many activities such as the procession of Mother Goddess Thien Y A Na statue from Cat Hai village, releasing of living creatures ceremony, candle lit ceremony, performance of folk songs… attracting flocks of boats and touritsts inside and outside the province.

Hue Nam temple is not only a religious and historical relic but also a beautiful landscape in the unique Hue culture; attracting many tourists to visit and worship each year.
