An pagoda-management training 2014 for monks and nuns was held on November 10th in Hue city.
The training course took place at Tu Dam preaching hall (No 1, Su Lieu Quan street, Truong An ward, Hue city) with a participation of 77 monks and 111 muns from Thua Thien Hue, Quang Tri provinces and Da Nang city.
Attending the opening ceremony were Most Venerable Thích Đức Phương, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Discernment Council cum Chairman of Thua Thien Hue provincial VBS Executive Committee; Most Venerable Thích Thiện Nhơn, acting Chairman of the VBS Executive Committee; Most Venerable Thích Thiện Pháp, Standing Vice Chairman of the VBS Executive Committee and dignitaries of the Thua Thien Hue provincial VBS and participants of the training course.
Local officials at the ceremony included Mr. Hoàng Trọng Bình, Vice Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Mr. Nguyễn Tài Tuệ, Deputy Director of the Home Affairs Department cum Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs and representatives from local authorities.
Overview of the ceremony
This training course aimed to provide basic knowledge on abbot profession to key Buddhist dignitaries, contributing to strengthen Buddhist personnel at grassroots level.
