Local guests at the ceremony included Director of Buddhist Affairs Department under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Bùi Hữu Dược, Acting Chief of Editorial Division of the Religion Publishing House Đỗ Thị Quỳnh, Chairman of Tay Ninh provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Trang Văn Hải, representatives from local authorities of Tay Ninh province, Trang Bang district and Gia Loc commune, Buddhist followers inside and outside the locality.  

The ceremony aimed to honor merits of late Most Venerable Thích Thông Lạc, the 5th Abbot of Chon Nhu monastery (formerly known as Am pagoda), who wrote many books for propagation of Buddhist teachings, meditation skills and ethical values. After the passing away of Most Venerable Thích Thông Lạc, the administration of Chon Nhu monastery was assigned to Venerable Thích Mật Hạnh.
