Vice-Chairman of Chau Phong commune People’s Committee said that in the commune, there are more than 90 Cham students studying in Islamic countries in Southeast Asia and the Middle East region, such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia. These countries are best studying places for Islamic followers, therefore have more attraction for many students in Cham communities. Cham students are often granted free tuition and accommodations under programs of Muslim community.

With Cham people in Phum Soai hamlet, those families having children studying in Islamic countries are very happy. Mrs. Salihah said “after graduation in Foreign Economic Relations in Malaysia, now my son is working at a Singapore hotel venture in Ho Chi Minh city”. Coming back at home after the end of the semester at IIUM, Ms. Hasikin (Chau Giang hamlet) confided: "I go to university with a desire to obtain a degree from a prestigious university. I'm studying social sciences and will return to serve the homeland after graduation. Hasikin’s father, Mr. Aduhaliem said "My family accepts higher costs for her to study abroad in order for her to learn new knowledge, become a useful person for the community. Her success will encourage next generations to strive in their studies".

After graduation in Muslim countries, many students returning home with an international degree will have more chance to get a good job. However, there is a paradox that many Cham students couldn’t get a job in their locality. Mrs. Maridam explained: "Businesses in the province thought that with an international degree the employees would ask for a higher salary that they couldn’t afford. Therefore, Cham students usually choose to go to Ho Chi Minh city for finding a job in big companies or companies run by foreigners”. Despite facing many problems, but cognitive learning of Cham community in Chau Phong commune has been improved.
