Southern Ok Om Bok festival 2014

The Ok Om Bok festival 2014 - one of the most typical traditional festival of Southern Khmer will take place in the historical relic Ba Om pond in Tra Vinh provincial city from October 30th to November 7th.

The festival opening ceremony will be held on November 6th in the historical relic Ba Om pond with an announcement of the decision by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to recognize Ok Om Bok festival of Khmer people in Tra Vinh province as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage. The festival activities in the opening ceremony will include traditional Ok Om Bok rituals, releasing of lanterns and cultural art performances.
