Social charities during the Buddhist Parents Day Festival

1.  Charities by the group “sincere people-sincere deeds”

On August 10th, at Pháp Hoa pagoda (Di Linh town, Lam Dong province), charitable gift boxes have been distributed to ethnic minority children on the occasion of Buddhist Parents Day Festival, B.E 2558.

Children receive gifts in the pagoda

The program was held by Venerable Thích Đức Hải with assistance from the group “sincere people-sincere deeds”. Each gift box includes 10kg of rice, soy sauce, warm clothes, Buddhist bracelets, noodles (for adults), and with addition of milk, candy, comic books and textbooks for children.

The total value of the charitable programs worth 40 million VND, collected from sponsors and the group “sincere people-sincere deeds”.

2 - Pháp Thiện pagoda granted scholarship to pupils

On August 12th, on the occasion of the Buddhist Parents Day Festival, Phước Thiện pagoda (Mui Lon II village, Tan An commune, Cu Chi dist, Ho Chi Minh city (HCMC)) in coordination with the commune’s Red Cross Association, Cu Chi’s Vietnam Youth Union granted scholarships to pupils and charitable gifts to families.

Venerable Thích An Sáng grants scholarship to poor pupils

Accordingly, Venerable Thích An Sáng, Abbot of Phước Thiện pagoda granted 30 scholarships to poor pupils and 50 charitable gift boxes to poor families.

3 - Linh Châu pagoda cast a great bell

On the occasion of the Buddhist Parents Day Festival celebration (B.E 2558), Venerable Thích Chơn Tịnh and Buddhists from Thường Quang pagoda (district 8, HCMC) visited Linh Châu pagoda (Duc Hue district, Long An province) and supported the casting of a bell weighing 600 kilograms, by assistance worth 300 million VND
