Soc Trang province: the Vietnam General Confederation of Evangelical Churches (Southern) holds a meeting to review the housing project for the poor

On September 13th, 2014, at Ke Sach Protestant church in Soc Trang province, Social Health Committee under the General Confederation and the Soc Trang province Protestant Representative Committee held a meeting to review the housing project for poor people in the locality.

Attending the meeting were representatives from local authorities, Social Health Committee under the General Confederation, the Soc Trang province Protestant Representative Board, the Project Management Board of chapters and 20 beneficiary families.

At the meeting, the representative from Social Health Committee under the General Confederation summarized projects carried out in Soc Trang province in recent years, such as clean water supply (wells, water purification); health checks and distribution of medicines and eyeglasses; housing support. For supported housing project, 20 families received financial support with a total budget of 600 million VND.

Speaking at the meeting, representative from the local authority recorded the Church’s practical charities and pledged to keep supporting the Church in the social work for helping the poor.
