Soc Trang province: Buddhist Guidance Board reviews Buddhist affairs 2014

The Buddhist Guidance Board under the Soc Trang provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) held a conference to review Buddhist activities in 2014 and approve working plans for 2015 on December 27.

The conference took place in Van Phuoc pagoda, Soc Trang city and attended by Most Venerable Thích Thiện Thành, Vice Chairman of the provincial VBS Executive Committee, members of the provincial VBS Standing Committee, Buddhists from 43 Buddhist learning groups in Soc Trang province and representatives from local authorities.

It’s reported that, in 2014, the Buddhist Guidance Board and the Buddhist learning group of Buddhist establishments in Soc Trang province conducted regular activities with increases in both quantity and quality. With the guidance of the provincial VBS Standing Committee, Buddhists Units, Buddhist Teenager Units were launched and organized practical activities for the religion and the nation.

On this occasion, the provincial VBS Executive Committee honored 29 typical organizations and 08 individuals from the provincial Buddhist Guidance Board for their contributions to Buddhist affairs in the locality 2014.
