Implementing a directive of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Council, the VBS Chapter in Tien Giang province’s cities and districts have completed the district-level Buddhist congress for 2016-2021 tenure.
According to Most Venerable Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Committee in Tien Giang province Thích Huệ Minh, the district-level VBS congress in the province’s 11 districts were successfully held during the period from April 1 to October 17, 2016. 187 members were selected to the VBS’s Executive Board of 11 districts for the 2016 – 2021 tenure and 11 Buddhist delegations with 328 members were also chosen to participate in the provincial VBS’s Buddhist congress, which is expected be held in late of March, 2017.
