It’s painful that abortion cases have increased in current society and Vietnam has been ranked as the country having highest rate of abortion amongst youth.
Given this current social issue in Vietnam and with desires to bring a spiritual uplifting for aborted babies and forgiveness for their parents, from September 1st to 3rd, 2014, Tu Xuyen pagoda in Hoang Dieu ward of Thai Binh city organized a solemn requiem for unborn babies.
Activities during the three-day requiem included Buddhist rituals, Buddha recitation, Dharma preaching, offerings, release of living creatures.
The requiem event was presided over by Venerable Thích Thanh Định, Abbot ò Tu Xuyen pagoda, and it’s reported that over 500 Buddhists took part in the requiem.
