Following instructions by local authorities for Covid-19 prevention and control, local organizations of religions in Hau Giang province have proactively joint efforts for preventing the spread of the epidemic.
Buddhist worshipping places under the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Hau Giang province have raised awareness amongst local people and followers on preventive measures against the epidemic, suspended all festivals, reduced scales of large gatherings, closed traditional clinics, as well as urged Buddhists and locals to proactively followe advisories by the Ministry of Health.
All Catholic parishes and congregations in the province have asked parishioners wear facemasks while going to churches and avoid crowded places. When followers have signs of infection (cough, fever), they were urged not to enter churches.
Hau Giang province currently has 18 registered religious sects and organizations with 155 religious worshipping places and about over 206,000 followers.
