Religious organizations continue sending essential supplies to people affected by Covid-19 pandemic

A delegation led by Venerable Head of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Social Charity Board in Ben Tre province Thích Trí Thuận on August 11 handed over essential supplies to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) in the province for sending to people in Ho Chi Minh city.
Acting Chairman of the provincial VFF of Ben Tre Nguyễn Phúc Linh and members of the provincial VFF received six tons of rice, seven tons of cassava and two tons of fresh bamboo shoots donated by Buddhists in the province.
According to Pastor President of the Church Trần Thanh Truyện, since July, the Church has four times donated rice, milk and other necessities, worth 200 million VND in total to disadvantaged people, unemployed workers due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and households in isolation areas.

From July 14 to August 8, Hoa Hao Buddhists in An Giang sent 25 tons of agricultural products to quarantine areas in Long An, 263 tons of vegetables and fruits to Ho Chi Minh city and Binh Duong province, worth nearly three billion VND.
