Quang Trị province: a requiem held for heroic martyrs in Hien Luong river

On October 5th, at the memorial in the northern bank of Hien Luong river, a requiem ceremony was held to pray for spiritual upliting to heroic martyrs who sacrified their life for independence and freedom of the nation at the historic demarcation river.

Attending the ceremony were Most Venerable Thích Trí Hải, Member of the Discernment Council of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS), Standing Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri provincial VBS Executive Council; Most Venerable Thích Thiện Tấn, Member of the VBS Executive Council, Chairman of the Quang Tri provincial VBS Executive Committee; Most Venerable Thích Chánh Huyền, Standing Member of the Quang Tri provincial VBS Executive Committee; and large numbers of Monks, Nuns and Buddhists in localities.

The requiem includes such activities as Buddhist chanting, recitation of Buddhist mantra of Maha Karunika citta Dharani, candle light in Hien Luong river. Buddhist dignitaries and followers joint together in respect to honour and pray for spiritual upliting to national heroic martyrs.
