Quang Ninh provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) solemnly held a ceremony for inauguration of Dong Phuc pagoda’s Tripple Jam worshipping hall in Quang Yen town on Jan 10.
Attending the ceremony were Deputy Secretary of provincial Party Committee Đỗ Thị Hoàng, Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Đỗ Thông, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee Vũ Thị Thu Thủy, representatives from concerned authorities and Buddhist dignitaries, followers in the locality.

According to Venerable Thích Thanh Lịch, Abbot of Dong Phuc pagoda, the construction of Dong Phuc pagoda’s main worshipping facility was started in 2010. Its traditional design has seven compartments upfront and three compartments of its harem on an area of 368m2: mainly made of ironwood and stone columns with finely carved and gilded decorations. The total cost of the construction was 25 billion VND, entirely raised by the pagoda.
