The Evangelical Church of Vietnam (South) (ECVN) solemnly inaugurated the church of the Bible and Theology Institute located in District 2, Ho Chi Minh city and celebrated the 500th anniversary of the Reformation day at two separate ceremonies held on October 30-31.
The events saw the attendance of Pastor President of the ECVN (South) cum Principal of the Institute Thái Phước Trường and nearly 5,000 dignitaries, deacons and Protestants in the city and neighbor areas.
Distinguished guests at the event included Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Trần Tấn Hùng and Acting Director of the Protestant Affairs Department under the GCRA Thiều Thị Hương.
Speaking at the inaugurating ceremony on October 30, while extending best wishes to pastors, commissioned pastors, missionaries and Protestants on occasion of inauguration of the Institute’s worshipping facility, Vice Chairman Trần Tấn Hùng stated that the inauguration of church contributed to the cultural architecture of Ho Chi Minh city and demonstrated the state policy on religion

On occasion of the 500th Anniversary of Reformation Day, Vice Chairman Trần Tấn Hùng also read the letter of congratulation to Protestant communities in Vietnam by GCRA Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng, as well as praised progressive values of Protestant communities in general, and the ECVN (South) in particular, as well as highly appreciated practical contributions by Protestants to socio-economic development of the country.
