Positive changes in Con Nam Catholic parish

Currently, Con Nam parish in Quang Minh commune, Ba Don district of Quang Binh province has six communities with over 560 households and more than 2,800 Catholics.

In recent years, Catholic followers in Con Nam parish have actively participated in emulation movements for building and defending the Fatherland and made practical contributions to the socio-economic development and social order in the locality.

Over the past years, local authorities in four villages (including Dong Thanh, Tan Dinh, Minh Ha and Con Nam) in collaboration with the parish and Catholic communities propagated and encouraged followers to live for a better secular and religious life; actively participate in patriotic movements for poverty reduction, building of civilized lifestyles in countryside and successful implementation of programs for the socio-economic targets in the locality. Today, over 90% families in Con Nam have been awarded the title “Culture Family”, two out of four villages awarded “Culture Village”.

During religious meetings, the Con Nam parish’s pastoral Council and Catholic communities incorporated the dissemination of State’s policies and laws for favor of respecting laws of the State, including the Ordinance on Belief and Religion and the Government Decree No. 92/2012/ND-CP provided for the implementation of the Ordinance on Belief and Religion.
