Pagodas in Bac Giang strictly observe Covid-19 pandemic’s regulation during worshipping festival in the seven lunar month

The fifteenth of the seven lunar month is the festival time of Vu Lan – Buddhist Parents’ Day or Trung Nguyen – Hungry Ghost Festival.
The festival usually draws large numbers of locals and visitors coming to pagodas for offering incenses and attending the requiem. This year, due to the complicated context of Covid-19 pandemic, pagodas in the province have closed for preventing Covid-19 pandemic as requested by competent authorities.
As reported, large pagodas of Ve, Thanh, Hong Phuc and Den in Bac Giang provincial city were quiet on August 22 (the full moon day of 7th lunar month).

Vinh Nghiem pagoda in Yen Dung district, Bo Da pagoda in Viet Yen district, Ha temple in Luc Nam district have also closed and suspended religious and belief practices for strictly observing the regulation of provincial authorities in preventing the pandemic spread.

Early, in a dispatch issued on August 18, the steering committee for Covid-19 prevention and control in the province requested religious worshipping places in the locality to suspend religious practices with large gatherings for preventing the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.
