In the complicated of Covid-19 pandemic, responding to calls of Vietnam Government and local authorities, charity groups and individuals in Huong Son district, Ha Tinh province have raised fund to support the task force engaged in covid-19 pandemic fighting and local residents and poor people in quarantine centers.
Among typical individuals in donating for Covid-19 prevention work was Venerable Thích Tâm Phương, Abbot of Nhieu Long pagoda, Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Chapter in Huong Son district.
Venerable Thích Tâm Phương has called on Buddhists and sponsors across the country to support the task force in the Covid-19 pandemic fighting and present gift packages to local people in quarantine areas.
Besides necessities including noodles, milk, drinking water, the Venerable has called on monks, nuns and lay Buddhists in Huong Son district to collect vegetables, rice, fruits, green tea,… planted in the district in order to make free mini markets for people in quarantine areas.
In response to practical activities of Venerable Thích Tâm Phương, Buddhists in neighboring districts of Ha Tinh province have replicated the free mini market model in these localities for joining hands with local authorities in the Covid-19 pandemic prevention work.
