New Catholic church to be built in Nghe An

Yen Hoa parish in Quynh Vinh commune of Nghe An province’s Hoang Mai provincial city has held a groundbreaking ceremony for starting the reconstruction of its worshipping church.

Attending the event included Bishop of Vinh diocese Alphonse Nguyễn Hữu Long and large numbers of priests and followers inside and outside the parish.

The new church constructed on an area of ​​1,250 m² (50m x 25m) is expected to be completed in 2 years.

Yen Hoa parish has a history of 135 years. Once completed the new church would contribute to meet increasing needs of Catholic practices by parishioners.

Participants at the event

Funding for building the new church will be raised amongst local Catholic followers and benefactors.
