The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) in Tay Ninh province’s Go Dau district held on March 28 a ceremony for appointing Nun Thích nữ Châu Liên as the new abbess of Ngoc Thuan monastery located in the district’s Cam Giang commune.
The event saw the presence of Most Venerable Thích Niệm Thới, Member of the central VBS’s executive council cum Chairman of the VBS executive committee in the province, other Buddhist dignitaries of the VBS executive committee in the province, and heads of executive boards in the province’s districts and cities.
Guests at the event included Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious and Ethnic Affairs Nguyễn Minh Nhựt and representatives from local authorities.

During the ceremony, Most Venerable Thích Niệm Thới handed over the appointing decision to Nun Thích Nữ Châu Liên.
Speaking at the event, Nun Thích Nữ Châu Liên took the chance to thank Superior Nun Thích nữ Thảo Liên, former abbess of the monastery for her trust, and pledged to do her best in the new role.
