Attending the ceremony were Most Venerable Thích Đức Nghiệp, Deputy Patriarch of the VBS Discernment Council, Most Venerable Thích Thanh Nhiễu, Vice President of the VBS Executive Council.

Local officials at the ceremony included Mr. Nguyễn Ngọc Phong, Vice-Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh city Vietnam Fatherland Front, Mr. Đỗ Hải Bình, representative from the city Committee for Religious Affairs.

At the ceremony, Most Venerable Thích Thanh Nhiễu introduced biography of the late Most Venerable Thích Trí Dũng, former member of the VBS’s Discernment Council, and initiated Buddhist rituals to commemorate his passing away.

On this occasion, Venerable Thích Thiện Quý, Deputy Secretary cum Director of the Office of Ho Chi Minh city VBS Executive Committee read the decision on appointment of Venerable Thích Minh Đạo as the new abbot of Nam Thien Nhat Tru pagoda.
