The restoration of Nam Huong communal house aims to preserve heritage for future generations, contributing to the education about cultural and historical values; and meeting the people's religious needs.
The information was released by Chairman of Hoan Kiem District People's Committee Pham Tuan Long at a ceremony in Hanoi on July 23rd.
Nam Huong communal house has an area of over 440m2. It was restored at the beginning of the twentieth century.
After the period of restoration, Nam Huong communal house has a more spacious appearance, but still basically preserves the original values.
Located behind King Le Memorial area next to Hoan Kiem Lake, Nam Huong communal house at 75 Hang Trong street was erected in the late Le and Nguyen dynasties to worship the superior gods.
The communal house is also a place to introduce Hang Trong paintings that have been greatly eroded./.
