Nam Dinh province: Buddhist national records and establishment of Phap Hoa ashram announced

Phuc Loc pagoda held a solemn ceremony for reception of three national records of Great Compassion (Dai Bi) stupa and establishment of Phap Hoa ashram.

Attending the ceremony were Most Venerable Thích Trí Quảng, Vice-Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Council, Most Venerable Thích Bảo Nghiêm, Vice-Chairman cum Head of the central VBS Committee for Propagation, monks, nuns and Buddhists in the locality.

Local authorities at the ceremony included Mr. Trần Văn Công, Secretary of the Nghia Hung district Party Committee, representatives from district agencies and the People’s Committee of the local commune.

During the ceremony, Nun Thích Đàm Vân briefed about the construction and development of Dai Bi stupa.

Dai Bi stupa worships Buddha relics, and 141 red bronze Buddhist statues weighs nearly 100 tons.

At the ceremony, Phuc Loc pagoda received the certificate of three national records from the Council of the national record 2014 for Buddhist statues installed in the Dai Bi stupa over the year.

On this occasion, Most Venerable Thich Tri Quang initiated a ritual of taking refuge in the Three Jewels for 400 Buddhists of Phap Hoa ashram at Phuc Loc pagoda as well as announced the establishment of Phap Hoa ashram.
