More religious volunteers join frontline medical force in Ho Chi Minh City

The 4th batch of 115 Catholic and Buddhist volunteers have joint the medical force at Covid-19 treatment hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City after two separate seeing-off ceremonies held on August 20.

After the seeing-off ceremony held at Minh Tam Hotel located in District 10’s Ward 12, 92 Catholic volunteers, comprising of 8 priests and 84 clergymen and clergywomen, have departed for services in the frontline medical force for treatment of Covid-19 patients.

Meanwhile the seeing-off ceremony held in Vietnam Quoc Tu pagoda by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Ho Chi Minh City in collaboration with the municipal Committee for Religious Affairs and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee in the city saw 23 Buddhist volunteers including one monk, one nun and 21 lay Buddhists.

In this 4th launching batch, 23 Buddhist volunteers were assigned to serve at Field Hospital No. 10 located in Thu Duc City’s An Khanh Ward. Catholic volunteers would participate in supporting the patient care at the Covid-19 Intensive Resuscitation Hospital located in Thu Duc City.
