Minh Chon Caodai Church contributes 70 billion VND to social charities in last five years

The Minh Chơn (Verity Way) Caodai Church was found in 1928 by Rev Trần Đạo Quang and was granted as a legal entity in 1996. Since then the Church has successfully held six national congresses.    

The Minh Chon Caodai Church actively operates in four provinces of  Ca Mau, Bac Lieu, Soc Trang and Kien Giang with over 33,000 followers and 49 parishes, and its headquarters located in Ngoc Sac Holly See located in Ca Mau province’s Thoi Binh district.

For the term 2016-2021, the Minh Chon Caodai Church has spent over 70 billion VND on charities activities. In particular, the Church has sent cash supports worth over 5,462 billion VND, presented over 643,000 kg of rice, worth over 7.7 billion VND and gifts worth over 1.2 billion VND to poor people, contributed over 1.7 billion VND for medical treatment by poor patients, offered 175 million VND to flood victims in the central provinces, as well as handed over facemasks, antiseptic solution for the Covid-19 prevention work, worth 522 million VND, etc.

Over the past five years, the Caodai sect has provided free health checks and free distribution of medicines with the total contribution of over 32 billion VND including health check-up for 357,000 patients, acupuncture for 218,000 patients, 1.8 million packs of traditional herbal medicines, etc.

In response to patriotic movements launched by local authorities, dignitaries and lay followers of the Minh Chon Caodai Church have planted over 16,000 trees and over 2,200 bonsais, built 17 incinerators, and established models for collecting waste, etc.

In addition, the Caodai Church presented books, pens, scholarships, bicycles, wheelchairs worth over 800 million VND to poor pupils; donated over 1000 m2 of land for expanding rural roads and 6,3000 m2 of land for construction of schools, worth over 2 billion VND in total; made contributions and working days for building 134 charity houses valued at 3.5 billion VND in total; supported 800 million VNN to Truong Sa island fund, etc.
