The Committee for Solidarity of Patriotic Monks in collaboration with Serey Dom Po Pagoda located Soc Trang province, held a solemn ceremony for inaugurating the pagoda’s main worshipping hall on January 26.
Attending the event included Most Venerable Vice President of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Council cum Chairman of the Buddhist solidarity committee Dương Nhơn, Vice Chairman of Soc Trang provincial People’s Council Thạch Thal, and a large number of local Buddhists.
According to Venerable Abbot of Dom Po Pagoda Sơn Minh Hiền, the Buddhist temple was first built in 1946. The reconstruction of the pagoda’s main worshipping hall was started six years ago and completed at the construction cost of eight billion VND.
