Thousands of people have flocked to Kim Tan square (Lao Cai City) to attend the opening of the lantern ceremony and street festivals organized by the provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and Lao Cai city authorities on Nov. 26.
Attending the ceremony were Venerable Thích Thanh Điện, Head of Lao Cai provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Vịnh, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, representatives from local authorities and large numbers of people and Buddhist followers.
With the theme "Colors of the frontier city”, nearly 15,000 candlelights made by the VBS Executive Board and Buddhists created a magic and impressive night. Thousands of people and tourists took part in the candlelight ceremony to express gratitude to national heroes.
