Kien Giang province: Buddhist administrative training for Monks and Nuns

On August 25th, 2014, at the preaching hall of Phat Quang pagoda (Vinh Quang ward, Rach Gia city), the Executive Committee of Kien Giang provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) held an opening ceremony to foster long-term abbot profession for Monks and Nuns.

The training course lasts in 3 years, with two learning days in each month, on the 1st and 2nd of every lunar month in Phat Quang pagoda (Vinh Quang ward, Rach Gia city).

Apart from basic Buddhist contents, Monks and Nuns were equipped with knowledge on management of monasteries, preaching methods, public relation, mass mobilization…by the Central VBS Propagation Committee, Vietnam Buddhist Institute in Ho Chi Minh city and lecturers in the universities.

Besides, the lecturers from Second Office of VBS and provincial Home Affairs Department, provincial Committee for Religious Affair will share knowledge on the VBS's administration, State’ policies and laws...

The Monks attend training course

It’s reported that, this was the first training course held by Kien Giang’s VBS with participation of 47 Monks and Nuns. After each subject, Monks and Nuns have to do one written exam and the Executive Committee will award the certification for eligible participants.
