Attending the ceremony included a large number of Hoa Hao Buddhists, and representatives of other religious organizations and local authorities in the province.

On the occasion, the Hoa Hao Buddhist Representative Committee reviewed its activities in 2016 and called on Hoa Hao Buddhist followers to proactively join social, charitable activities for social development as well as implementation of the church’s key principle of repaying debt gratitude to the country and its people.

According to the reviewing report, the Hoa Hao Buddhist Church in Kien Giang province spent over VND 31 billion on social charities in the province in 2016.
