The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s executive committee in Ha Tinh province in collaboration with Can Loc district authorities held on April 3 a ceremony to kick off Huong Tich festival and celebrate the Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva's birthday.
The event saw the participation of Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Trần Nam Hồng, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Coucil Võ Hồng Hải, Senior Venerable Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee Thích Quảng Nguyên, and large numbers of Buddhists and visitors.
The main event of Huong Tich festival is associated with the Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva's birthday and held annually on 18th day of the second lunar month,.
In addition to Buddhist rituals celebrating the Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva's birthday, the festival also featured many cultural activities praising the beauty of the traditional culture.
