The central Executive Committee of Hoa Hao Buddhist Church reviewed social and charitable activities in 2017 at a meeting held on March 20 at An Hoa Tu temple located in An Giang province’s Phu Tan district.
The event saw the participation of Chairman of the Central Committee of Hoa Hao Buddhist Church Nguyễn Tấn Đạt, members of the Church Central Committee, and 200 delegates representing the provincial-level representative committees and executive boards from localities.
Distinguished guests at the event included Vice Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Trương Hoàng Trọng and Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Lê Quang Tấn.
As reported at the meeting, last year Hoa Hao Buddhist followers have contributed over VND 404 billion to charity activities including building of charity houses, supports to the poor, etc. In addition, the Executive Committee also encouraged followers to actively engage in environment protection and climate change adaption.
On the occasion, the Central Executive Committee of Hoa Hao Buddhist Church presented certificates of merit to four representative committees in provinces and 64 executive boards for their outstanding achievements in social and charity activities in 2017.
