Caritas Viet Nam and Caritas of Ho Chi Minh City’s Archdiocese will coordinate to carry out “Education Development Project for immigrant children”.

The project will initially be implemented at five schools in Ho Chi Minh City Diocese, namely: Tam Ha, Tam Hai, Huong Tam-Binh Tan, Vinh Son-Binh Tan and Lasan-Tan Hung.

Within the framework of the project, each pupil will receive a uniform, books and notebooks, and supporting articles. In addition, the project will provide computers and printers for five schools, and training equipments for schools in case of need.

On August 12, 2014, nun Ngọc Thủy – Deputy Director of Caritas, nun Như Lai and several staff of Caritas Office in Ho Chi Minh City visited and presented gifts to 239 pupils of Tam Ha school. Nun Bích Trâm, Director of the school informed that at this moment of the year there are 70 pupils of first level, and a total of nearly 400 pupils have registered with the school this year. Pupils from first to fifth class will go to school in the morning, while those from sixth to nineth class will attend classes in the afternoon. Nun Bích Trâm believed that, support and assistance from people will encourage pupils to overcome their families’ difficulties and become useful people in the society.
